Q: Can you tell us about your service?
A:
When cleaning your home we only use nontoxic natural products, that are never tested on animals. The products we use are safe; we make sure that they are NOT hazardous to your health, or the health of your pets. We are an environmentally friendly cleaning service, which means that we make every effort we can to minimize waste and preserve the integrity of the planet by using biodegradable substances.

Q: What makes your service different from any other cleaning service?
A:
Our regular cleaning is more thorough than that of other cleaning services. In addition, we provide a service comparable to that of 4-star hotel and more, including a turn-down service and aroma therapy for your home. We treat your home with the utmost respect-all of our cleaners are hand-picked and specially trained to do so. All of our cleaners have an eye to creating a visually attractive home for you, should you wish them to organize areas of your home. We are an environmentally and socially responsible service.

Q: What are your rates? General Cleaning (one house cleaner)

Weekly $29.00 hr (with a four hour minimum)
Bi weekly $31.00 hr (with a four hour minimum)

Q: What are you rates? Spring Cleaning (two or more house cleaners)

Q: What does a General Cleaning include?
A:
General Cleaning includes a thorough cleaning of all surfaces such as, but not limited to floors, counters, baseboard, all mirrors, all furniture, ovens and windows. Unlike other cleaning services, our cleaners will always clean corners, underneath beds, moveable furniture and will move objects on a counter in order to clean underneath them. General Cleaning also includes disinfecting the kitchen and bathroom. We include our signature amenities such as a complete turn down service, which includes changing your sheets (clients must leave fresh sheets for the cleaner), apartment aromatherapy, and organic chocolates and potpourri left on every bed.

Q: What does a Spring Cleaning include?
A:
A spring cleaning includes all services provided in a General Cleaning and more. This cleaning is very intense and detailed and therefore requires at least two house cleaners. Intense areas of cleaning include; inside and out of the refrigerator and stove, inside and out of all kitchen and bathroom cabinets, full dusting and cleaning of all bookcases and cd racks, inside and outside of windows (client must have modern windows that fold into the apartment), cleaning of all lighting fixtures and ceiling fans, cleaning of all ceiling moldings, and any other surface that might need cleaning.

Q: Do you do laundry and is it an extra charge?
A:
We will wash and fold laundry at no additional cost but clients should be aware that laundry usually adds an additional hour to the final cleaning time. Clients must provide their own laundry supplies and are advised to inform the cleaner of any special garment care instructions.

Q: What supplies do I need? Can Zen Home supply me with cleaning tools?
A:
We are equipped with our own eco-friendly cleaning supplies, however for sanitary reasons Zen Home requires that each client supply their own cleaning tools. The basic tools need are; a broom, mop (sponge mop works best), mopping bucket, dust pan, toilet bowl brush, step stool and vacuum(optional). If the client has a vacuum then very often there is no need for a broom. If a client does not possess the appropriate cleaning tools and informs us in advance, we will be happy to furnish the client with the appropriate cleaning tools at an additional charge (with the exception of a vacuum). Please keep in mind that quality cleaning tools clean more effectively.

Q: What type of products do you use and where do you purchase them?
A:
Some common brand names of products we use are Ecover, Lifetree, Seventh Generations and Earth Therapeutics. We purchase our products directly from the source.

Q: What type of lead time do I need to give when booking an appointment?
A:
We usually require two days advance notice.

Q: Can I have the same cleaner if I use your service on a regular basis?
A:
As long as you book on a regular day and time we can usually send the same cleaner. Please be advised that if a house cleaner is sick we may have to substitute him/ her with another cleaner.

Q: Are you insured?
A:
We are licensed, bonded and insured.

Q: How does Zen Home ensure five-star quality service?
A:
Zen Home cleaning professionals are specially selected based on their ability to perform and receive our signature training to provide exceptional service. We also have unique quality control measures in place to help ensure consistency in our standard of service.

Q: How do I give feedback to Zen Home?
A:
We welcome feedback from all of our clients since your delight with our service is our goal. Please contact us with your comments following a cleaning.

Q: Are you insured against damages? What about objects of sentimental value?
A:
At Zen Home we treat your home as we would our own. However, in the event that an object is damaged, please notify our office within 24 hours and we will take action to provide compensation. We are licensed, bonded and insured. We also understand that every client has valuable and sentimental items that may not be replaceable, which is why we take extra care in your home.

Q: What type of training does your staff receive?
A:
All cleaners must have considerable cleaning experience prior to employment with our company. Once an employee is hired s/he must complete a training program. The owner of Zen Home personally ensures that all cleaners are diligent, courteous, and trustworthy.

Q: Do I have to be home when someone cleans?
A:
The large majority of our clients are professionals and are not home when we clean. Some clients let us in before they leave for work and show us how to let ourselves out and some clients opt to make us a set of keys.

Q: We have pets, is that a problem?
A:
Most New Yorkers have pets so we are accustomed to working around them. If your pets tend to get anxious around strangers it is best them in an enclosed area during the first cleaning or until they become accustomed to the cleaner. Please remember that extra time is needed to rid an apartment of pet hair.

Q: How do I pay?
A:
We require a valid credit card on file prior to cleaning your home. Please contact our office by telephone at (212) 462-2566 in advance of your cleaning to ensure that proper arrangements are made for payment.

Q: Do you offer discounts or promotions?
A:
If a new client uses our services following your recommendation you will receive a 10% discount on you next cleaning. If you refer four clients to us that use our services we will give you a free cleaning. Please provide us with you email address as we do offer discounts throughout the year.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A:
We understand that there are times when you might need to cancel or change your cleaning appointment. We ask that you give us 48 hours cancellation notice. Due to the high demand for our services, if you cancel less than 48 hours of your scheduled appointment, you will incur a $35 per scheduled cleaner cancellation fee. Any appointments canceled less than 24 hours of the scheduled start time will be charged the full amount of the cleaning. If a Zen Home cleaning professional arrives at a scheduled cleaning appointment and is unable to gain access to your home you will be responsible for paying the full amount of the cleaning.
