ABOUT THE FOUNDER OF ZEN HOME
We’re Zen-focused, interior designers at heart, who just happen to be home cleaners.
Like many of our customers, our founder Deanna Harris came to New York to pursue big dreams. In her case, modeling, and interior design.Little did Deanna know that many years later, she’d be running one of New York’s most exclusive home cleaning companies. But that’s what often happens with New York dreams.
Deanna always had a knack for interior design with a Zen twist. But when she tried to find someone to clean her first NYC apartment, that’s when opportunity knocked.
New York apartments (especially small ones) don’t always have great ventilation, and she could barely breathe thanks to the cleaning products used by the maid service which were heavy with chemicals.
To make matters worse, her house was clean, but not Zen the way she liked it. The pillows were tossed on the couch, not put back the way she liked. The house wasn’t organized. It was simply clean.Her search turned up no one who truly understood “green” cleaning or how to create a Zen home.
That’s when she launched Zen Home Cleaning.
